Videos on YouTube of young people taking – and getting high on – Salvia Divinorum are on the increase apparently. Politicians and media workers are calling foul on this trend which, they claim, is causing more people to try the drug. In fact, logically, the reverse is true: more people are posting videos on YouTube because more people are going out to buy Salvia and try it.
Anyone wanting to buy Salvia is legally allowed to do so under Federal law, although there are some States that have taken it onto themselves to stop people going to buy Salvia and banning the drug.
There are a lot of videos of Salvia being used on YouTube but very few of them glamorize the act. Some are downright negative about the drug. There are plenty of videos that show car crashes on YouTube but they don’t make me want to go out and crash my car. Watching a video about Salvia doesn’t make me want to go and buy Salvia. There is some twisted logic at work here, and it is down to the twisted minds of the politicians and lawmakers who are playing political games with our civil liberties. Is this still a free country?
